"Amese" My Dear submitted by Hanis B. |

I have always been a cat lover; my mom always had cats living with us in our house. At the age of 20, in my university days, living in my own rented flat, I always felt alone when I’d come back
home from classes and after my part-time job. That’s when I met my lovely cat that I call 'Amese'. At first, she was so thin, ferocious and fierce when I went to touch or pet her. It took me over 6 months,
giving her food and trying to gain her trust before she let me pet her. Being an outdoor cat, she’s really something. Living in my flat area, which has lots of stray cats coming and going, Amese is always
determined to control her territory area. That was the story 3 years ago; now Amese is the most pampered cat living with me in my terrace house with her son, Upin, and my twin Persian cat, Kembang.
Somehow Amese has learned to be gentler towards others cats and humans, but still, I'm the only one whom can hold her and kiss her. Others won’t stand a chance at all. Maybe the way she grew up as a
stray cat, without love and attention, makes her attitude seems difficult. But for me, she's my only dear, she's always there for me, asking me to pet her and purring in my lap. Waiting patiently for me when
I'm back from work. Accompanying me the whole day on Sunday. Sometimes I think that she really adjusted herself with my schedule, my housemate said that if I sleep over at my twin house, Amese
will only come to the house and ask to be feed, and then she's gone. But when I'm around at the house, she's always there, 24 hours. See, how much animals will love u back when u love them.... |

| To keep your cat out of the garden, try putting chicken wire down and planting between the wire. Cats dislike walking on it. |
