My husband and I are planning some home improvements such as painting the interior of the house. We have two cats (2 yrs and 3 yrs) that are totally indoor cats. Can we safely paint in the summertime without having doors and windows open?

I have a 7-month-old rescue kitten who has been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis(?). He had been exposed to leukemia at a week old, although at 3 and 6 months, he tested negative for this. However, his "cold" seems to be getting worse - he's very wheezy in the morning. The vet said that with chronic sinusitis, there's really nothing to be done. Since I can't give him chicken soup with garlic - do you know, or have you heard of anything else that can be done to treat this ailment?

What is the normal respiration rate per minute that an older cat of 12 years should have? She has a heart murmur and I was told to take the respiration and heart beats per minute and place it on the calendar. She has started taking Atenolol and Lasix.

In a multiple cat household you should have one more litter box than the number of cats. For example, if you have 2 cats, you should have 3 boxes. This will help deal with territorial issues and may aid in preventing inappropriate elimination.
