Where is a good place to look for a kitten? I am interested in getting 2 kittens from the same litter. Where should I look?

I recently adopted a 2 yr old tabby from a shelter and am looking to find a vet to take her to for a physical exam and to receive the remainder of her vaccines (she only received rabies vaccine from the shelter). Do you have any advice on how to go about selecting a vet? I had a bad experience with the previous vet I visited with my other cat and want to make sure I find a quality vet to care for my cat. Is there any way to research a vet beforehand so you know that you are selecting the right vet?

I have a wonderful 15 year old cat. She is very much a lap cat and sleeps with me at night. I recently became engaged to a man with a very bad cat allergy. I am currently searching for a new home for my sweet kitty. My goal is to find a quiet home with no kids to most emulate the current dynamics of our home. I would like to find someone that I know well and could still visit her and remain, in some way, a part of her life. My question is, how severely could this affect her. This is terribly stressful for me and I feel horrible, but I want to do what is best for her.

Beware of a sudden change in the type of cat litter you provide for your cat. Many cats have a distinct preference for the first type of litter they were exposed to as kittens. Abrupt changes may confuse your cat and could create a litter box aversion.
