Mentor Q & A

Shouldn't cats be eating the "dental" dry food, along with canned food, so that future dental surgery isn't necessary? Purina doesn't have this type of food. I have already been through one operation with one of my cats to clean teeth as one was infected. After using another product that is called dental food, all of our cats have had excellent physicals including the teeth.
My cat is now 13 yrs old. He eats fairly well but acts as if he is always hungry. Canned food is preferred & he often just licks off the gravy. Sometimes he'll eat the dry food and sometimes I'll see him eating the small kibble that is the toy dogs' food. He meows at me all the time as if he's hungry. I haven't tried a senior cat food yet.
What can I do for my two 13 year old cats who have difficulty chewing? My cats, one male and one female, have difficulty chewing the Cat Chow. The female had a stroke 2 yrs. ago and has extreme difficulty chewing. I have given them both canned food but they get terrible diarrhea, and they don't like the semi-moist foods. They have always eaten the Cat Chow but it is too hard. I have tried moistening it but they won't touch it! Is the Senior Cat Chow easier to chew? I also have a 5 year old female that eats the same food as the older ones. Can she also eat the Senior Cat Chow? Please help, they are losing weight!!
