Mentor Q & A

My husband and I will be out of the country for two months this summer. We have an 8-month-old female calico that we just adore. Would it be better to leave her at our home to be fed and looked after by our neighbors, or to take her to another family member's home to stay with them while we are gone? I know either choice will be hard for her. We want to do the best thing for our little kitty.
I live with a 3-year-old female cat. If I go on vacation, is it best to leave her at home and have a friend check on her or take her to a "pet motel" where cats and dogs are separated and cats can watch birds feed at feeders thru a window? What is less traumatic?
