I am getting ready to have my 3 male cats, age 9 months (they are all brothers) neutered. I am concerned that having them neutered will make them mean and hateful. They are all sweet natured cats, and I hope they always will be.

My six-year-old neutered male has, for the last three years (spring-time!), acted very aggressively primarily towards my five-year-old spayed female. He fluffs up and chases her, "howling" i.e., screaming all the while. He then will go after the three four-year-olds he "raised." which turns into quite a chorus! The past two years he's received a hormone shot from the vet, which worked well the first year and not as well the second. What else can I do? Obviously, this shot is very painful to him. I isolate him to calm him down when I'm home, but I work outside the home.
