Mentor Q & A

My cat is just over a year old, neutered and an indoor cat but still wants to wander. Also as kitten he was very much interested in the various toys I have but lately he does not show an interest in them.
Where would you get a fence in system like you were talking about? You described it as netting that attaches to things around the yard such as trees. This sounds good to me for my cats. But I have no idea where I could get something like this. I have never heard of such a thing.
A neighbor’s cat who lives a block away from us has adopted our home as her second home - staying on our front porch/back deck for hours. She meows, rubs against our legs, but does not want to be touched and will scratch or bite at us with no provocation. We have a small (14-lb.) poodle and we have to make sure T.J. is off our back deck before we can let our Hershey outside. T.J’s family claims she is an "indoor/outdoor" cat who roams as she pleases and returns home to eat. I don't want to do anything to hurt T.J., but she has tried numerous times to sneak into my house. What can I do to get her to go back to her home. She follows me everywhere, but won't let me touch her. She will leave when I walk her down the stairs and into the driveway.
I have taken in a cat that is an outdoor cat and is not happy inside. She has escaped once already and we were lucky enough to get her back. Do you have any advice as to how I can eventually let her outdoors without running away again? I would like her to be happy and go outdoors, not sure how to go about it.
If my kitten ran away does it mean that it didn't love me?
