My 8-month-old cat chewed apart a dangling cat toy and ate the elastic string it was hanging on and later coughed it up in a hairball. How will I know what kind of toys to buy that are strong enough to prevent this? Shouldn't all cat toys sold be pre-tested to prevent this?
