I have two calico kittens, 5 months old. I have heard the tri-color kittens don't come into heat. Is this true?

Why do male calico cats die right after birth? How come they cannot survive? Why do only female calico cats survive?

I was thinking about adopting a kitten, the kitten is a Maine Coon/Calico mix. What do you think its temperament will be?

My current kitty has these tufts of fur at the base of his ears that I've never seen on a domestic before. I named him after an elf (from JRR Tolkien) because of these tufts! I've only seen something similar in wildcats such as bobcats and lynx's - is it possible for domestics to mate with those two?
